The company is a privately held Spanish firm engaged in the development, manufacture and trade of axles and related parts and accessories for motor vehicles. It was incorporated in 1998 and has its registered office address located in Borja, Spain. The company' business is carried out in production plants which are dedicated to project development and the manufacture of vehicle suspension safety elements such as front and rear axle shafts for Europe's leading car manufacturers. It also provides the automotive sector with OEM with direct services. The company integrates systems and components as supplied by its industrial member companies and other leading suppliers. The company has two factories located on Borja and in Aragon. In 2003, Automodulos and Opel (a German carmaker) set a joint venture company in Opel's facilities in Zaragoza responsible for welding operations on the rear axles for the Corsa model and also assembling all the cars' back axle components. The company is managed by Fagor Ederlan Sociedad Cooperativa Limitada, a supplier of global solutions including modueles, assemblies and functions to the automotive industry. Fagor Ederlan heads the group that comprises its business units and associate companies, aligned within an organization based on the business lines of suspension, brakes, engine and transmission. The company is a member of MCC's automotive division (Mondragon Cooperative Corporation), a group of manufacturing and retail companies based in the Basque Country and extended over the rest of Spain and abroad. MCC is one of the world's largest worker cooperatives.
